  • Without digressing too much, I certainly have a thicker skin than to worry about asshats such as Vic "Don't let the door hit you in the ass" and Cliff "Big Mouth" Clavin and what they have to say.

I love the cars and always will. But having attended a 356 Holiday and feeling like an outcast because I was so young didnt leave the best taste. With these cars I appreciate the uniqueness of them but also the crowd associated with them. Thats why I like VWs....I have good friends that I have developed over the last 20 or so years and while there are always a few in the crowd, most people are very nice. Present company of course excluded, I found my experience with the Registry and some of the people associated with it to be a complete turnoff. To be fair, Cliff Clavin helped me out a lot with my car, but seeing how he turned, and the trash he talked of others, left me shaking my head.

I will never understand some of the people in that organization. Its just a fancy dancy magazine at the end of the day. For now, I'll focus my attention on my new toy - a 57 original paint 23 window bus that my kiddos will enjoy, but I'm sure I will be back someday. I hope the Registy is changed for the better by then and more accommodating to others.

    Just my opinion, as always.

    • Kevin you need to post pics of that 23 window. I am interested!

You can post it in the "other auto obsessions thread located in the open topic forum.

      • All,

Yesterday, my attorney's letter to the CEO of PCNA was posted here.

As you know, I am unable to post or respond to misleading statements on the R Forum.

There are many R members who look at this site as well.

I would be grateful if someone would post the letter on the R Forum thread.

          • Mr. Adams wants to know what sort of attorney would use the term "hung up" in correspondence.

Perhaps the sort of attorney whose partners wrote a two volume treatise on the very subject of the litigation.

Maybe he'd like to buy book:
Liability of Corporate Officers and Directors, available from Matthew Bender Publishing (no relation to the restraints chewer) at the Lexis/Nexis store.

                • Michael,

Of course, thank you! That said, it does not seem to me to be such a grievious error.

For all the Registry members following this very difficult set of issues---

Please consider how useful it is for a sitting Trustee to make the comments he has made. Does this help foster a dialog to move toward any mediation or settlement?

Please think about the effect of this kind of stuff on newer members and those thinking about becoming members.

Please read the letter that was posted (the letter sent to the CEO of PCNA). How much clearer can it be that the posts of complaint and vitriol were based upon red herrings designed to mislead.

Please consider whether, having lost at the trial court level and the appeals level as to discovery motions, it is now wise for the Registry to now appeal to the Ohio Supreme Court. They will do so, or not, in the next six days.

Please note that, so far, my offer as to making it crystal clear as to there being no need to take that extraordinary step, has not been responded to at all.

Mrs. Sampson, at my request, made the correction Michael.

                      • It may be important to point out here to both 'sides' is that while it may appear here on Justin's site that only a few people participate in these few threads concerning the Registry and a few more participate in a new and surprisingly permissive Forum on the Registry's own site regarding the same topics, that is NOT all there is going on in the background.

There are far more communications going around among concerned Registry members, former members or potential members than is visible on any one site and that is growing as time and the issues at hand drag on. More are becoming concerned. I see many communications (more than I have time to read), but I am told there are many, many more than I would ever see.

It's called 'networking.' It's going on for both 'sides' but more and more individuals and representatives of other clubs and even PCNA and AG are involved and are learning it's best to seek all the information that pertains to the current situation. That is something new since the beginning of the Registry and should be taken into consideration by those few who can actually end this conflict.

The club has always had control over communications, first in print and then/now in it's Internet presence...but that is becoming almost a driving force, making more interested parties want to become fully aware of all things involved. It shows 'he said, he said' is becoming a 'wash.'

Currently, the forest is still hiding behind trees. Some may be quite realistic in appearance but are shown to be fake when the ax is applied and personally I cannot see a true reason why this impasse has taken longer than even the House (of Representatives)would take to settle something so seemingly basic, especially in a simple Car Club.

I have tried to read EVERYTHING pertaining to this mess and written to as many as I can to express my own opinions and listen to as many others as I can....and I still don't understand the core reason this happened or why it's still going on. All I can take from this now is that it's not 'my' Registry or 'our' Registry as far as informational access or decision-making goes and that something has to change, and soon. More damage is being done every day this continues, seen or unseen.

                        • Bruce,

                          Well said.

To me, and I'm sure many others, I see absolutely no reason the 356 Registry should not have forthright business transparency with past and present Financial records and Meeting minutes. The disclosure should be no different than how Porsche Car North America "PCNA" operates with its club membership.

Why would a Registry member want anything different for a non-Profit Car Club Club organization?

Apparently, the Trustees there have concocted imaginary (expensive) excuses to not make this available to its own Members, the Ohio Court Justices who have now legally ordered them to, nor to PCNA.

It is high time to get to the bottom of things, and for 356 Registry members to demand no further waste of time nor waste of their financial resources...hiding only the inevitable.
