    • Some of you have been somewhat or directly involved in this for a long time and I respect that.

I think of old proverbs as pre dating trucks. At any rate I am off to the side of the freeway observing traffic going both ways but trying to stay close enough to see the license plates.

You guys do like to get in your last sentence jabs. I believe that may have something to do with the stand some have taken. But again you have a grievance in not having access to the Registry. Surely that will be rectified.

      • Ashley:

I thought it an interesting coincidence that Mr. Chieffo joined the Registry the same day he sued Mr. Heinrichs, whose membership or not is one of the issues in the litigation. I am not the lawyer for either side and would not expect to be privy to the legal strategy (if any) involved in making Chieffo a member. It is conceivable that he simply became sufficiently interested in a car we all love to join the club as a result of his representation of the corporation known as 356 Registry, Inc.

Of considerably more significance, conceivably, to more directly address your inquiry is the importance the appellate court placed upon the suit against Mr. Heinrichs in determining that Mr. Heinrichs is entitled to all the books and records which he requested in discovery. That is, Mr. Chieffo and his client, 356 Registry, Inc., chose to put those records in issue by their own actions. The appellate court specifically mentions the foregoing fact in paragraph 24 of its unanimous opinion. If you are interested in that opinion it is on the court web site to which links are available in the thread on Justin's site entitled: Registry Litigation FAQ: http://www.abcgt.com/forum/13-Open-Topic-Forum/12339-Registry-Litigation-FAQ.html. Alternatively I'll email you a copy upon request to this email address: mondokook-abcgt356FAQ@yahoo.com. That is a disposable email address so that when the bots find it I can close it but it is good for now.

Mr. Heinrichs, incidentally, made an offer to mediate the dispute and, while well ahead on points (no judge yet has disagreed with his position), withdrew any consideration of the so-called personal information the Registry claims to have if only the Registry would go to mediation. For reasons unknown that offer was permitted to expire by its terms although the parties may choose to resurrect it - that would be a gracious gesture by Mr. Heinrichs when his proposal was ignored.

Finally, I'll apologize for being a little bit of a smart ------ in response to a smart ------ remark on the R Forum. I should have remained above that. My second posted fact is, as I mention above, conceivably of some significance (you'll have to ask the lawyers handling the case and I would not expect a response from either), although in retrospect I should have left off Mr. Liberty's "tag" about facts.

        Bill

            • Mr.Page:

It seems some apology is in order; first, for misspelling, second, for the occasional tongue planted firmly in cheek without warning, and last, for the lack of skill to make clear the difference between friendly noodge and jab.

It is this last that I regret the most, as I meant no disrespect for your very laudable sense of wonder. It was the first step toward understanding for all who post here and for many who are carefully testing the recent latitudes on the Registry site. It is wonder that leads to curiosity, that leads to questions, that leads to the quest for answers that make sense. All are symptoms of involvement, which is, I like to think, the condition I meant to encourage. My apologies if I failed.

I'd say that describes the 'fans in the stands' who lurk here but do not post. Once one makes that move, he is in the lanes of traffic and subject to drafting, being drafted, or trading paint depending on his driving style. Welcome to the track...

                  • Whenever someone calls me Mr. Sampson I turn around figuring my Dad is behind me. One of the many indignities inflicted upon me in what is apparently my dotage is to be called "sir," especially by young ladies who feel they should hold the door for something as decrepit looking as I.

                    • Ashley,
I'm REALLY liking your style. You are voicing what many of us "fans in the stands" are thinking...

                      • Ashley, at least the young ladies see you. At my age I'm invisible to them.

I get it. At a certain age you may think "one of these days someone will say 'yes sir' or 'sir can I help you' when all you have been getting is 'how's it going bud' or the most used 'no problem man' all from someone young enough to be your grandchild. Then someone catches you off guard with a yes sir and then you think am I that old!

AREYOUKIDDING! I've been invisible to them for longer than I can remember! Everybody young looses interest in you when you not only look old but they also discover you are not understanding half of what they are saying.

Trying to explain something interesting in my past to a teenager is much worse than when I was young and hearing about the 5 mile walk to school. The digital age has made us insignificant!
