  • Guys,

If I might get in on this one, since I have read the posts on the R Forum and the R filings: I believe that I am Nr. 1.

    Sorry.

      • Here is one I found of the past #2 ass (assuming he's been demoted by now). It's the guy that is also an Inimical.

        • Jack,

          Thanks much! Yes, sorry, Bill.

So, I must get a T-shirt made. Bill, where did you get "Inimical" done?

            • I am so disgusted with the Registry that I will NEVER join again. Steve, you are right and I support you. How can the Registry possibly object to complying with state law, regardless of their pantywaist protests against the lack of privacy.

But I think there's something more we need to consider here. For years the Registry was denying its members their free-speech rights. As soon as you would say ANYTHING to which one of the Registry honchos objected, your post would be deleted or Barry Brisco would immediately get on there and tell you how dumb you are. We should all recognize that this denial of free speech was the "foot in the door" that allowed the honchos to spread their disinformation. Denial of free speech is always the first action of a dictator. We should NEVER have tolerated it in the first place, nor should we be surprised that the Registry evolved into a completely dictatorial regime. Too few Registry members were willing to protest the denial of their free speech rights by voting with their feet, and now we are paying the price for being chickenshits.

              • The forum was a place of complete censorship and a very pick and choose atmosphere for enforcing the rules. I was suspended for doing the exact same posting as a moderator, when I objected I was told to drop it, when I further objected I was suspended from the club. But the new moderation is very open to discussion and actually works with you.
If you have been avoiding the forum, you might want to give it another try, you might be surprised. This doesn't apply to you guys who quit the club in protest, but for the lurkers.

                • Oh, Adam says the Registry forum has changed completely! Is that why you find it necessary to kiss up to the Registry honchos so assiduously, Adam? That's an interesting way to utilize your new-found free speech rights!

                  • Adam is right, the forum is more open now providing you are a member. Non-members cannot post. I have also noticed it. It is not perfect but much better than a year ago.

                          • Mr. Dunn (Please would someone send to him on the R Forum, since I can receive messages there but cannot respond),

Open letters seem to be in order today. Here is a serious one to move the converstation forward. I write to you in your capacity as president of the Registry and I write to you in regard to the litigation between the Registry and me. I urge you to pass this along to other Trustees and officers and their respective counsel.

It now is clear to any reader of the various postings and filings that the issues of car information disclosure and member personal information disclosure are complete red herrings. I have made my disinterest in this material clear for months. Yesterday, Registry Forum postings disclosed the truth that some do not want to accept: I simply want to be able to be able to get any report I might make to the membership directly or via an independent party. Gordon Maltby suggested ways.

So, in the spirit of moving forward and saving money for the Registry and me and getting to substantive issues, I offer the following:

                            1) I will specifically make it clear in writing as to not wanting the material as to names, addresses, etc. including car data and will make it certain legally that that information need not be provided.

                            2) The Registry will not take its appeal up to the Ohio Supreme Court and will comply with the Appeals Court and Trial Courts' ruling with respect to the remaining discovery requests and the Registry will comply with those requests no later than October 22, 2013.

This will assure those concerned that the Registry is not seeking further delay and incuring unnecessary costs. It will also assure Members that none of their personal information will be released in connection with this litigation.

George, I do hope you will consult with each Trustee and Officer and with Registry and their separate counsel and get back to me before the Open Meeting this weekend. We can get the paperwork done quickly.

I should add that my phone number is:

775.691.2217 (maybe, as well, you could somehow get the moderator(s) on the Registry Forum to dial down the personal comments. They are in violation of the rules and more, but you know that).

                            Sincerely,

                            Steve Heinrichs

                              • Yeah I can't post on there any more either and I am now not in a rush to rejoin not though all this, just for the fact that I don't think it represents good value for money when you are an international memember and can only really benifit from the magazine 6 times a year that I think needs to be PDF'd to me rather than posted for say $20 bucks a year.
