Jean Behra was part of the formula 1 Ferrari team
In addition he was also driving 718 RSK spyders when there were no formula 1 grand Prix
Early 1959 he was sacked by Ferrari unhappy of his work in cooperation with Porsche to try to develop the Porsche formula 2 race car
Therefore in August 1959, instead of entering the formula 1 Avus Gd prix in Berlin West, he decided to compete in the Sports car race who took place the day before (saturday)on a private 718 RSK number 21 seen at the start of the race

Trying to compete with factory'spyders more powerfull than his private car he was braking later than the others
At about the same curve of the brick oval his car going too fast went straight instead of turning
Unfortunately for him when he left the banking he hitted a concrete block were during the 2 nd WW were placed DCA machine guns you may see on the below pic taken the day after the accident during the formula 1 race

                        Guys,

We will show the Mickey Mouse Typ 645 as a part of the 550 section in the book (not out after first of year).

Interestingly--and we include the internal memo---they set out to build two.
