    Steve - I think I'll have to buy you a few rounds of shots next time I see you and find out if you spill the beans. Seriously though, it sure would be nice if the car was shown publicly for people to enjoy. It's such an important piece of history. Maybe someday...

    • I'll be at the car week stuff. Happy to recieve the shots. We can toast the Trustees and all they have done to positively advance the registry.

      As to 02---it is right there with 550-050.

        • Speaking of 550-055 as long as we're spinning the rumor wheel, I heard what's left of it is in Oklahoma. I told Adam Wright that years ago. Maybe he'll find it, he's certainly out there hunting cars the most.

          • Like all surviving 550s - just give me a plate and a title to 550-02 and I will whip one up in no time, slap on a new coat of paint and a couple of Carerra Panamericana gumballs and bingo-bango off to RM auctions for a nice retirement fund...

                    Appears the lower Wischblatter cleans the bottom of the windshield - and the upper Wischblatter alternately cleans the top of it. In a heavy rain, they must have had a driver-vision need for the top section as well.

                        • As the roof was removable, I doubt it would be wired up, so more than likely a handle on the inside. The restored 550-01 only has the one wiper

                            • The "perspex deflector" creates an air stream to help direct road spray up and away from windshield.
                              You can buy them today to your daily driver to put up front or rear of your car to create a diffrent flow and keep your car "cleaner"
