    • Hi Henk,

      you are right with the race numbers.
      Bill Buff's spyder (550-0081) was originally #45, but it was the same number as Nocker's (550-0036), so they changed the 5 to a 3 to become #43. Buff also had to get a new engine installed before the main race.

      • Interesting photos of 550-0093 on display. 093 was a frame only and not assigned to a body. It was used to repair 550-0037 after an accident, but as you can see things aren't quite right. The build plate is not original and the stamping is incorrect font and looks really dodgey. I would love to see the paperwork on this one...

                          the slave cylinder for the clutch that actuated the arm was it aluminum or cast iron and if there existed a cast iron one what was the application.

                                it was made from cast iron.
                                I'm sure for early spyders, not sure for late ones.
                                If you have such a cast iron cylinder and want to sell,
