    Gerard,

Great photo's and story. Over here many people have a 'Christophorus' badge in their car as a 'lucky charm' The explanation given is correct.

My theory ( and its only a theory! ) is that the owner of the restaurant near the race track knew of Christophorus and decided because it would obviously be used by many a race track driver if they bought a coffee there they might just be a little safer!

I also found out recently 'Rob Walker' a UK driver also had a 904
I don't know if he bought it new or if it was one of the two cars owned by Dickie Stoop?

    Thanks for those pics

    Roy

                  Hello Marcus,

Thank you for posting and Welcome to our forum! Gerard (porschinelle) would probably be the guy to answer the question concerning the origins of these old shots. Very interesting, so you're representing this car at auction? What are the current price estimates? Any current photos or details; even a link to your site would be great! Thanks and Welcome once again! Justin

For those interested by Dickie Stoop I have discovered today that Dickie died of an heart attack in 1968 at the wheel of a 911S also registred YOU4 during a simple club race
Dickie ex-RAF pilot during the 2nd WW was only 47
