Hi,
I see you have a number of my 904GTS photographs on this blog which is fine by me. I knew Dickie Stoop very well for a number of years and I would like to correct some information. Dickie died driving his silver racing Porsche 911S at Croft, in Yorkshire, England 19th May 1968. My late brother Mike "Ginger" Giddins was looking after Dickie at the time when Dickie suffered a coronary thrombosis whilst exiting Bancroft corner.
Like my brother who worked at AFN I followed in his footsteps. I knew all the Aldington family and old AFN retainers (Harry Olrog, Nelson Ledger & George Sneath) and especially John - H J's son.
All in my book available at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Porsche-Memories-Volume-Alan-Giddins/dp/1478117486
Thanks
Alan

Hi Gerrard,
No problem on the photographs so please feel free to use them.
No I do not own the ex Stoop 904 but maybe one day I will have the resources to offer for it.
YOU 4 was Dickie Stoop number along with HOT 5 and OU4 on his BMW 2002Ti which towed the trailer with his race car of the day on, 904 or later his 911S.
My old boss Chris has it these days and my colleagues arranged YOU 5 for George Harrison ex Beatle who I also knew as a fellow Porsche nut. George has a black 928S, 944GTS, 930 3 litre turbo in gold which he gave to his wife and then had a black 930 3.3 turbo.
Best wishes and if I can be of any assistance let me know
Thanks
Alan

Merci Gerard,
I was aware that this wasn't the Stoop car. My apologies for posting the photo here. Was taken at the PRCC and I believe it to be owned by one of your countrymen. The lovely lady is strong competition for the car's charms.
Cheers,
Joel
