  • It’s a soft “sausage roll”. Works like a house on fire. Slides into the dispenser and each roll comes with a new nozzle. I Use the caulking gun to squirt out and run along edges. Then it’s all about using your finger to smooth. First run with the finger is fine then it gets gummy so I keep dipping finger in equipment cleaner acetone to smooth and feather.

Each roll comes with a disposable nozzle. Make sure it is a current date if it is two years old it will have partially cured. I squeeze it out along the seams then run smooth with a finger. First pass with finger works well then it gets gummy so I dip
my finger in equipment cleaner acetone to wet and smooth out. I learned about this from my friend who restored airplanes.

      • Added a drain hole and tube to the rain try. A black tube/hose will slide over the pipe and down and out through the gas tank shelf.

Yep, nice to see the "to do" pile getting smaller. Scott, what is that U-shaped panel next to your rear spring plate caps? I don't recognize that as for 356...

            • Justin - that is so funny. Honestly I don’t know myself!!!!! I have been pulling stuff out of my 356 boxes so assumed it was for the car. I thought it was transmission related. I do have the dreaded 1960 single nose cone. I will be digging into the transmission this fall. When I discover what it is I will let you know.

I think we've all restored a stray part that somehow found its way into a parts box at some point...

            • I figured this out. It was a spare trans mount I had from my 68 912

ID:	111214 Installed the trailing arms. For my car they needed to be set at 16 degrees. The inner torsion rod with 40 splines moves 9 degrees and the trailing arm with outter splines of 44 moves 8 degrees A lot of trail and error to get them at around 16 and equal both sides. At 16 degrees the arm hangs over the lower bolt receiving hole so a strap and a lot of tension was used to draw it up to expose the hole to lock in the cover plate.
