Great project car David. Finding an original Speedster project these days is quite the hat trick, Congratulations on this find! You said you're still collecting parts for, are you missing everything not pictured? Are you missing the windshield frame?? Thanks for sharing it with us and do keep us posted on how its coming.
    Justin

BTW: don't forget to hit the "insert" button on each photo so they will display large.

Thanks Justin, I am indeed looking for an original windshield frame. I have a pair of windshield posts. My work desk is over run from small parts I have been collecting.

Congratulations on checking another item off your wish list David. I can remember being in your shoes about 15 years ago trying to round up all the original speedster components that I could find to complete my project. The toughest parts to locate back then were original door tops/garnish rails, the lower speedster windshield frame and most elusive, a Low bow top frame. At the time there were several uppers with posts for sale but the lower was always missing. I purchased an upper with posts first (which I still have)and my buddy had found a recently rechromed lower for sale for 750.00 but passed on it because he thought it was way too much. By the time I heard about it and told him I wanted it, it was sold. I spent the next year trying to locate one and ended up buying another complete unit for 4k just so I'd have a complete frame. Anyway, this was one story of my parts gathering adventures so I know what your up against and empathize with you. Best of luck with the rest of your search. Justin

BTW: I think your car might have been an old racer due to the extra gauge holes in the dash and it also looks like the rear wheel arches have been altered.

Thanks Justin, I have to agree those items seem to be the most elusive still today.

Looks like a really nice original.

Congratulations on checking another part off the list David!

BTW: hope that outer doorhandle on your desk isn't for this car. That's a T2/B/C. You need T1 square handles for this '56.

Thanks Justin for pointing that out. I thought I had got a good deal on Ebay. If you can use it you are welcome to have it for any projects you may have.
