Help with a measurement

Hoping one of the members can help out. Looking for a measurement for a 356BT5 coupe from the top of the shifter tunnel to underneath the the bottom of the centre of the dash (under the radio area). Need to determine where to land the height of the shifter tunnel before placing in the floor. I have a good reference mark for the rear of the tunnel where it attaches to the heal panel but the front height is a puzzle. A vertical measure from under the centre most forward part of the dash lip to the top of the shifter tunnel (bare no carpet) would be very much appreciated.

Sorry Scott, too new for me to help once again. Anyone with a B/C car have the distance from the tunnel to the bottom lip of the dash? If no one responsed I'll try and make it over to my buddies and get that measurement for you.

sorry a bit slow. I have a '60 BT5 and I'm confident that this measurement will be original I get 460 mm, see below:

Jonsey - can you confirm you get a length of the tunnel at about 52.5 inches. would you also be good enough to post two pictures - one of how the end of the tunnel marries up with the front brace brackets and at the end where it lands on the heal panel. A measurement from top of heal panel edge to top of tunnel would also be helpful. Thanks kindly.

Hi Scott, glad to help.

The tunnel length is 1335 mm, which is 52.559in.





The rear of the tunnel marries with a flange that has a gap on its vertical face:







The top of the tunnel at the rear is 116mm from the top of the heel panel flange (if this is original). I can get you the distance from other reference points if this is a drama.




The front of the tunnel is welded at the top to the front brace brackets, and has overhangs inside. I hope the photos show this clearly enough.













Hope this helps mate, let me know if you need any more. Luckily the front half of the floor is off, so I can take more photos around there if you need. I really need to update my thread, it's been a while!
