A very rust free and well preserved 1965 356SC cabriolet was being painted from its original Irish green to black. The car still had most of its original paint and the jambs had never been touched. This unmolested condition left a very rare seldom seen original detail intact.

This metalic "made in W. Germany" decal on the A pillar sub-frame. I've been told this is a 1964-65 356C thing only. This original was carefully masked to preserve it. No surprise these stickers would not last through several resprays which is the norm for an old car. Just an FYI for you concourse 356C owners looking for that long forgotten factory correct detail.

Those stickers began being used around the time (1964) that Porsche bought Reutter Karosserie and made the bodies themselves, changing the chassis id plate to "Porsche". Reutter then became Recaro, the seat guys.

Shame about all that lost original paint. Was it in really bad condition?

      Thanks for the info Jack.
No, from what I can remember the original Irish green was mostly intact with only one or two panels being resprayed at some point in the past. The new owner just wanted it black.
