As you may see the car has found back its missing fog light and has lost the accident consequences
Furthermore the guy who did that had the funny idea to replace Claude typical helmet by spectacles

      • Now a small anecdote for the fun only
In the 50's Rallyes were dangerous as we have seen above but also great fun
I found the menu that offered to the 1959 Routes du Nord competitors after the Reims race

What is funny is not the food : hotpot, chicken, cheese and fruit tart, but what the pilots were offered to drinck before to take back the road :
          Red sparkling wine
          Champagne
coffee and marc de champagne (as a Cognac but with Champagne wine)
Do you imagine that to day ?

            • Hey Gerard,
that preview reminds me of my journeyman's piece years ago,
still hanging on the wall in my Workshop today:
              The Abarth-Simca 2000 door.

              Gerd

followed in 1963 by a nice berlinetta who in fact took advantage of Abarth precedent developments with Fait and Porsche

                          • Before to leave Italy to emigrate in Argentina, Piero Dusio gave to Carlo Abarth the cars who were not completed at the time of the bankrupty and that was the start of his own company Abarth co based in Torino
Carlo Abarth first tack was to complete and sell the ex-Cisitalia cars, but very quickly he moved to what we will call to day a "tuning" activity ie everything who will help turning a family car into a "bomb"
From the start of the company up to today, over 65 % of Abarth activity was exhausts building

                              • In parallel with his exhaust production Abarth develop a fultitude of equipments such as suspension, brakes, seats, stearing wheels, carburetors etc dedicated to improve Fiat (the more important Italian car constructor) perormances
Thes product sold as "pack" could be either sold as such or fitted in house on Abarth customer cars
This activity grow quickly and Fiat Abarth became a reference in the sport cars field
