          • An interesting sequence showing that at the start (still given with the pilot on the other side of the track) Claude Storez was much more prompt to start than Jean Behra whose car was ahead of Claude's one

                          • 3 days (July 8th to July 13th) after the Reims 12 hours, Claude had accepted to share the wheel of a bright new 356 speedster belonging to one of his friend named Chavy into the Coupe des Alpes a very difficult race of 3700 km through the French, Italian and SWwiss Alps pountains, starting and arriving from Marseille
57 competitors left Marseille, only 17 came back
According to the local newspaper Claude was one of the favorite

For those who will have the courage to watch this long (35 minutes video) they will discover of hard and dangerous these races on open roads were dangerous for the pilots, the cars, the spectators and sometimes the unfortunate other people sharing the same roads
As I was not sure of the success of posting I have extracted sopme interesting pics
First Claude Storez/Chavy white speedster bright new (I can tell with the plate number who say this car was registred in June 195 at the start and quite distorted when they had to leave the race somewhere in Italy
