The Denzel of the English team Edgar Wadsworth/H.Briesley arriving too fast in a sharp corner were surprised by a Triumph TR3 badly damaged and stop in the middle of the road hit violently the rock

In 1957 he was vice-French rallye Champion behind Claude Storez
Some of his victories

and Bernard Consten raced Le Mans 6 times (5 times for Storez) but also without great success

He kept this car until 2008 when Bonhams was in charge to sale his car collection
In 1999 he drove his 904 in the Giro di Sicilia/Targa Florio revival

The reason of my disgression on Bernard Consten is that at the 1958 Coupe des Alpes he wad friving the prototype of the Alfa Romeo Giuletta SZ who was officially presented at the 1959 Milano car show
I don't know if Bernard Consten had the idea to have a standard Alfa Romeo Giuletta fitted with a light aluminium body or if he was offered by Alfa Romeo to drive it
Around 200 off Alfa Romeo SZ were built
The next step for Alfa Romeo was the Giuletta TZ (for Tubolare Zagato) in 1965
