  • The last Liege Rome Liege was raced in 1960
From 1961 to 1964 the parcours was changed into Liege Sofia Liege in order to use not too loaded roads
In 1965 up to 1971 the race changed name to become the Maraton de la route (road marathon) consisting into a 3 to 4 days non stop race on the old Nurburgring race track
In 2011 a well known event organisation tried to organise a Liege Rome Liege revival
A picture of Claude Storez/Robert Buchet white speedster was used to attract potential competitors with the mention no gravel roads only asphalt and no racetracks

    • Unfortunately the price asked to enter a car (more than 9000 USD) was too high and the race revival was a complete "flop"

For its first race in 1958, Claude Storez teamed again with Robert Buchet
Apparently he had sold his white Carrera Speedster with which he raced several times in 1957
For the 1958 edition of the Neige et Glace Rallye (Snow and Ice rallye) a typical French local rallye in the Alps, they used Robert Buchet own white Carrera Speedster plate number 466BY86

                  • As many of these old rallyes, the Criterium (not Rallye as I said by error above)Neige et Glace is still raced to day for historical race cars
Here a nice Belgium 356 attending the 2015 revival

                    • In 1958 the FIA (for Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) decided to launch a less expensive formula than the Formula 1 that they called formula 2
To start with, in order to have enough competitors it was decided to authorize sports cars like the 550 to enter these races

                      • Claue Storez having already a small experience of that type of racing was choosen to drive in several French formula 2 races with an Auguste Veuillet 550
Its first race was the Pau Grand Prix by April 7th with a DNF

From May 30th to June 1st Claude Storez did compete into the Mont Blanc rallye, a rallye he had already won in 1957 with Robert Buchet
I know very little on this race only that he won again with his new team mate Tremble
