I've always heard that you should open and close the petcock sparingly as the casting can wear out rather quickly causing it to weep or leak badly. Anyone else heard that?

I rebuilt the PreA petcock 28 years ago and am wondering how long it will hold up. I close it at every engine shut off, so it gets used a lot in probably 40,000 miles. At least Foam Cars is outside, so if I ever get to drive it, and it leaks, it won't leak inside.

Okay, good to know that opening and closing it won't become an issue then. Very true Phil, they got it right by moving that unit out of the interior. Thanks guys! Justin
