JR, you have it. It's the Nike swish at the bottom of the V on the 56 that differentiates the sides, but also look at the front turn signal light. The 55 is round and the 56 is oblong. That's the easiest way to tell the delta.
Those photos of the 356's in the snow are....are beautiful.

I graduated from college in 1956 and I can hardly remember the details of those machines.
In September 1957 I had a 1954 Ford when I started USN Flight Training and when we got married in June 1958.
Just reverse the colors on this one.
Mine was white on the bottom and blue on top.
January 1958 NAS Pensacola getting the 'new' flight gear and a 1954 Ford trunk full of stuff heading for NAS Saufley Field and T-34Bs.
