I have two openings to the left of the ignition switch opening.
According to the manual these are not original.

Hey Gordon,

you'll definitely want to weld both of those shut. You may have had an extra hole drilled there if your car was equipped with foglights but it would have only been one additional hole. Does your Kardex make referrence to any fitted to your car?


Here's a shot from my '56 factory WS manual. No additional holes to the left.


I have one extra hole to the left of my ignition to control the old autopulse fuel pumps.
