  • Hi,...I have a JPS coupe replica

Yesterday I enjoyed seeing the 356 registry group pass through Idyllwild. I assume they were on their annual run. I am a retired 5th grade teacher. I have a collection of vehicles...JPS 356 Coupe replica, 328 Ferrari, 62 MGA, 59 Bugeye Sprite, 62 AH Sprite H Prod race car, 62 Corvette, and a 2001 Miata. I am downsizing,...Last year the 1966 912 went to Germany, and more recently a 1950 MGTD went to England. They were both barnfind originals that I never restored...which made foreign buyers much more interested. Anyway, all the cars are basic #3 drivers. I rotate insuring and using them. The SoCal desert climate is kind to them.

The group you saw were members of the local 356 Club of Southern California. It's an annual event - Palms to Pines.

Trevor,: I really enjoyed seeing several real Carreras as the group stopped in Idyllwild for lunch.... I spent time trying to see the details my replica does not have. It was really fun to see such a great assortments of cars. My wife was particularly happy NOT finishing the drive down to Banning and then to McCormicks car auction in Palm Springs. Much better lunch at Oma's in Idyllwild while admiring the 20 or so great cars.

Hi Paul, Thank you for joining us and Welcome! That's quite an eclectic group of cars you have. The '62 Corvette peaked my interest as its my favorite year and the one bit of American Muscle I had to have. So I bought one several years ago. Here's the thread I started on it:
        http://www.abcgt.com/forum/13-Open-Topic-Forum/767-1962-Corvette-driverpartial-restoration.html

However, its on the back burner until my coupe project is complete.
If you get a chance tell us a little about for JPS. If you're building it a project thread would be fun to watch. Thanks and Welcome once again! Justin
