Roy, from DDK, put me onto this forum and I always listen to his advice!
I have a 912 Targa which I've just returned to it's original colour & soft window. It's my 2nd 912 the first was a silver 68. The first was a long, frustrating process as initially the engine kept cutting out at low revs, then someone rear ended it and then it was stolen I found out after the fact that the engine was a ex race engine of Eric (sry I've forgotten his last name). Unfortunately the garage/builder that worker on it changed the cam for a milder one and it never ran as quickly! However, I knew nothing about cams and engines at the time so wasn't able to input into the discussion.
I was without a 912 for about a year and then bought my Targa which was red, tired and a hardtop. Since then I had the front pan replaced, it resprayed and the soft window installed.
It now looks like this. I don't have Michael Moore's skills with a camera but you get the idea
Green dails!
I'm slowly starting to work more on the car myself. Starting with simple service items. I've taken a car mechanics course but I still have a long way to go. Recently I found that the breathing hole from the right cylinder head was capped rather than having a pipe to the oil cannister. I managed to do most of it but when I realised that I would have to remove the right carb I took it to someone more experienced.
About 2 years ago I decided that I need another Porsche and this time it had to be a 356. Which I bought from Bob Campbell in the states. I was the 3rd owner of this car. The 2nd owner had had it from the 60s and used it as his daily commuter. However, in 2003 he retired and started to recommission the car with a new engine, gearbox etc. This car has ran very nicely for me. Mrs B, and I, took to out to Stuttgart with DDK last year and surprised many of the 911 boys with our speed in the Black Forest Mountains.

I don't know where this adventure with Porsches will end up. Hopefully with an Abarth GTL but only if I win the lottery
