However, its a very special GS; Rare original orange exterior color and quite heavily optioned by the factory.

Lots of documented race history as well with Von Frankenberg being one of the drivers. Though its only a GS its obviously in GT rarified air as the selling price reflects. Thanks for sharing! Justin

2 off spyders were displayed

One metalized grey was for sale on the HK engineering a British company stand alone in the middle of 7 off Mercedes 300 SL
This 550 was still displaying its 2011 Milleglia stickers may be an indication to find which one it is
The second one metalized blue is one you refer to
He was displayed by a German broker together with the metalized green
904 GTS and many other splendid cars
I have tried to obtain from one of the salemen present on the stand the chassis number without answer
The only indication I may give you is that this spyder display on the right of the windscreen 7 identical stickers (the older one for 2006) stating that this spyder has attented 7 Gaisberg Rennen revivals
(Gaisberg in Germany is a place where a famous hill climb race part of the world Championship took place in the 60's and the 70's)

I tend to believe whomever purchased that car is having serious buyers remorse by now. 94,000US for a coupe that looks like it will need at least another 50K just in steelwork? There was a lot of blood in the water With all those other unique and ultra-rare cars that were part of this hoard so I envision a real frenzy which left someone holding the high bid and the bag before they came to their senses. IMHO I think 45K is all the money for that car in its current state.

I'm waiting for the money to find another place to play. Think a lot of latecomers will be left holding a very empty bag, and those of us who care about the cars as something other than part of a portfolio will be smiling again.
