Good day today overall. 200 mile round trip, drove up halfway in heavy mist & some drizzle plus two rain showers during the show & then it did clear up for the ride home. Having some issues getting my pics loaded from my camera but will get it done soon.
Highlight of my day? Not one, not two, but three four cam cars in attendance. Two were Speedsters & one a 58 gt coupe. Funny that when I asked the coupe owner if I could see the engine he replied the original is out getting some work done & this was the spare. I expected to see a pushrod engine but then he pops it open & says this is from a RSK. Holy cow he's got two four cams. So cool.
About 18 speedsters, 8-10 coupes plus other P-cars & a few non Porsches. Funny that the kids choice award was a VW Bus.
One nice thing was voting was only peoples choice for all classes & everyone who brought a Speedster was recognized with an award (license plate & a toy Speedster) as nobody voted on the Speedsters so they all won.
Cool that so many drove their cars out even with the not so great weather.
PS - Forget to mention my no start with the key issue came back at the rest area this morning. Had to push start it there & after the show.
Met up with Lake Underwood II halfway there plus met a guy in a cool single cab splitty who just pulled in at the same time. He was coming from the Trailbash in the Pine Barrons of NJ & heading back to Vermont. Crossing the Tappen Zee bridge then on the Merit pkwy. I know you want to see show pics & I'll get them up soon.
What can I say. I asked where it was found & the owner told me it was his. He used to drive it & then it got neglected. It had sheet metal floors screwed/riveted on that were falling off. Plenty of big holes. I think if you sat in it the drivers seat would collapse.
Really cool 58 GT coupe. This is the one with the four cam from a RSK while the original is having work done. Wow did this sound sweet when he left especially when he got on it up the road. My son couldn't believe the sound.
More pics coming when I get some time so check back. Just read my e-mail & one of my buds John was on his way when He broke down in his 356. Had to get towed back home, bummer. Hope it's nothing serious.
Thanks Mic! Great shots! Sweet photos of Lake's speedster running up the road! Did that barn find speedster still have floor in it? It looked very moist. Looking forward to the rest!

1956 Carrera Speedster. I asked about the red steering wheel & was told that Spyders had maroonish/reddish wheels & that is what they wanted. Color should of been darker. Was told this took first in class at Monterey this year.
Several cars in the other than Porsche class. Superb 66 beetle vert. I have to mention the attention to detail on this was excellent. The fender beading & running boards were done to match the top was just one of the many small things that you don't notice right away.
