Today, ALL the members of the organizing team (but one couple, the Hodgsons, now in Florida) gathered in Lancaster, PA celebrating a grand event of 6 years ago, the ECH 2008. 518 attendees, 276 356s. The local 356 club shirts were worn by the guys for nostalgia.

It should be noted that it was all veterans of not only old Porsches but every branch of the armed services on this Memorial Day 2014.

It was the last-minute idea of Esther and Eric Wahlberg to host at their Lancaster home. Ideas were kicked around for a local 356 drive/tour with a lunch stop, a day-long picnic...anything to rejuvenate the local (numerous) 356ers. If and when plans get firm dates, I and/or Dan Haden will announce here and over there.

Couldn't have done it without the involvement of spouses.

I know when you are married for awhile you resemble your spouse but this is uncanny, almost twin like.

You know when "24" is about to come on and you rush and the home computer just doubles an upload that takes about 5 minutes?.....it was like that....and I'm sorry.....for those who got the emailed version. Otherwise, it's fixed during a commercial (now two).

Mic, we in that group have all been married a long time and we are starting to look like our pets!

All fixed Bruce! Thanks for sharing, its always nice to put faces with names you become familiar with. Sounds like it was a lot of fun! Wished I lived closer. Any photos of the actual event?

These shots are from a few days prior to the actual event. Our concours chair, Loren Hulber, insisted on the big circus tents for shelter and shade, as Brett Johnson was giving a restoration presentation during that segment.
The show was at the Grimes Airfield (GAAM, or goldenageair.org) and the weather was perfect up to and after that Concours day when it rained cats and dogs.
I'll look for more pictures, but during the event, most of the organizing committee were, uh, a little busy. I was noted to have a cell phone on one ear and a staff radio on the other most of the time, "putting out fires."

WOW! I thought you said this was a last minute impromptu sort of get-together? Looks very well planned by the looks of that big tent. I hope someone took some good photos.
