Cool, didn't know he had Speedster(s). I recall he had a bus, and I think a low mileage Beetle (or maybe it was the bus). Loved their shop there in San Diego. I drove my car directly from their store to a friend's house in Phoenix (Chandler), Arizona (~350 miles). Nice guy!

      Gerard,

Your friends 356A looks very nice indeed, Not so many like that these days. Also your comment about a 'cul-de-sac' in your previous post made me laugh. Actually that term has been used since I have grown up. I was born in a cul de sac. For us it means a Road that has no exit. The entry is also used as the exit. Your term 'mews' does apply to a street full of old fashioned houses that are often not that many in number. But not always a closed road!

The odd thing is if I said cul-de-sac to my 45 year old son he would get the meaning my 38 year old son I am not sure he would.

Liked your photos's and the fact Jack knows your friend!!

        Thanks Roy for your comments
Sometimes re reading what I wrote made me laugh imagining that a lot of people do the same reading my franco english
To day I am going to talk of John Willhoit certainly the best place to have his car restaured
Talking with one of the boss of CPR about the fact that their cars had a lot of bondo he had the following explanation : I give to my customer what they are prepared to pay
Certainly John Willhoit customers are prepared to pay a lot more than the CPR ones !

Last year John Willhoit shop visit was a must
          Sun was shining
Many visitors came with their cars including a strong delegation of the 911 R gruppe with cars all better than the other ones
As an example Mr friend Pascal was ther with his A, this year with his Golf
Just for Roy and Jack a last year pic

In addition to the vintage cars last year John had a dyno installed in front of his shop and all the day long customer were invited to test the power of their car
If I remember well this black 914/6 gave more than 260 HP at the wheel

In other hand I also remember a guy testing his 356 outlaw and very desappointed reading the result : less than 65 HP
In French we would say :"beaucoup de bruit for rien" which translate in : much noise for nothing
Also last year John W was offering a red 356 with a 2202 CC engine for test
