  • LA Porsche week 2014

Just back from Los Angeles after a full week overthere with my good friend Bruno the boss of the VW and Porsche shop Vintage Import (www.vintageimport87.fr/)and 2 other Porsche enthusiasts friends
After a 12 hours flight we arrived at LA Lax airport Wednesday February 27th midday
First bad surprise the sun we all four expected after over 2 months of rain in France was not there
On the contrary the weather forecast was very pessimistic with rain expected until Monday March 3rd : not good for the open house visits
On the contrary good surprise with the car rent company who had attibuted us a bright new 5.6 liter V8 Infinity SUV

Another bad surprise was that it took us more than to 3 hours to satisfy the very pernickety US custom control
Indeed we flew on an Air France Airbus 380
At LA these very large planes all land unto a dedicated terminal and 3 more A380 landed in a few minutes ie over 2000 people needing to satisfy custom controls through less than 20 control gates
The time to go to the car rental company the day was over

Next morning Thursday February with the jetlag we awakened very early
Unfortunately it had rained all night and the landscape look funny

Most of the "for sale" cars are 911
To get a fully restored classic 911 E or L you need now over 120.000 USD
