Drove out at the last minuet. But I hit insane traffic at every exit where there was a mall, so I basically missed it. However I was able to have a beer with Jack and trade a few stories, so it was worth the drive after all.

Thanks for posting the link Bill! It was such a pleasure meeting and visiting with you and Rosemary. I look forward to the next one!
Tom, great meeting and talking with you as well! I hope that green coupe got you fired up! It was a pretty car!
Hey Jeff, you sure did! I was one of the last to leave so I probably just missed you. Oh well, at least you got to visit with Jack; that's worth the trip alone! Maybe we'll car pool for the next one...
This get-together far exceeded my expectations! Jack and his crew are incredibly gracious hosts! A lot of great cars, nice people and good food! You can never go wrong with grilled Bratwurst's, onions, and sour-croute!
12/22/13
After Coffee and a late breakfast I finally shook off the lag from this quick turn around trip. I made the mistake of going to bed too late and ended up getting only 4 hours of sleep the night before. By the time I made it home last night at around 9:00PM I was shot! I had planned on loading a few shots after I was home but there was no way.
Okay Mic, here are a few shots (171 to be exact ) I'll try and keep photos of the same car together so you don't feel like your looking at repeats:
As I walked up to Jack's shop this beautiful '57 T1 coupe was the first thing to catch my eye!
This car belongs to Robert Kahn owner of GT WERK. That's him in the Hawaiian shirt. Trevor Gates was having a conversion about the car with him at that moment and this is where our paths crossed. A very genuine, friendly out going guy and a real asset to the 356 community. It was a pleasure to finally meet you in person Trevor!
Really beautiful factory original color combo of Sahara beige and burgundy. These photos don't do it justice.
According to Robert this was languishing project car that had not seen the road in 40 years. The last owner had all sorts of intentions on restoring it but never did it! God, I do not want to be that guy!! So neat to see this old survivor restored and running...

Can't remember the owner of this car's name but according to Trevor and one other guy there this car gets out a lot and is practically driven all over creation and back. Very cool that its actually being enjoyed and driven!
I was getting the shop tour from Trevor as this car was leaving; just as neat to see it running and driving away. One of the Gal's there in front turns and says to us "don't you wish Santa would bring you that for Christmas?" Of course the obvious answer came to mind: "uhh, yes please..."
There's Robert in the background inspecting that Hotrod coupe to make sure its GT WERK equipped.
Really liked that custom small diameter Carrera style B/C wood steering wheel.
More this evening. Have to get to the shop; I'm motivated! JustinJustin Rio

Thanks a lot Mike, will try and plan for that one. It was really nice meeting and talking with you! You have a beautiful coupe with amazing historical records. Welcome to our forum thank you for being part of it!
Justin
Speaking of which here is Mike's car:
This coupe ran several race rallies in Europe in the mid to late 60's
Mike has it all very well documented in old photos and records. (Maybe he'll share it here one day)
Great car Mike!
This 65 S/R 356C belongs to a client of Jack's whom has owned it since it was brand new.
Here's a few shots of that green one Tom; hope these help!
Another red S/R coupe

From what I am seeing this was probably the most photographed car there. Makes sense, lots of curb appeal and parked in a prime spot..
The value and beauty of those Rudge wheels draws you in...
the old 1500 emblem makes for a great key fob.

Thanks a lot Trevor! Jack really has that crazy dry sense of humor and his style really put me in mind of my late mentor Greg Parker in this respect. I had a lot of fun listening to him go on.
Below is the photo of Tom ,Jack and Trevor right after Trevor introduced us to Jack.
Tom and I were talking about his project car just before Trevor brought us over to meet Jack. Once Trevor introduced us Jack sort of leaned back and stared across the lot and said "oh yeah... You guys are the welders" in sort of that laid back beach boy tone. I can't remember his exact words after but it was along the lines of "I can't believe the crap you guys are trying to fix" All tongue in cheek of course and ball busting at its best. I'm sure he was referring to that chassis I'm elbow deep in now and NOT Tom or Trevor's projects. He's a character to say the least!
A few shots of Miles Richardson's Clean C coupe.
By mid-morning car shuffling and jockeying was a constant as a path was made for the early birds leave and new guys to get their car "in the show" so to speak.
Craig Richter's Speedster (correction NOT Craig Richter's car; Speedy is on the previous page)
Sorry I missed you this time Craig. You're car stayed but I was told you left earlier for a family function. Maybe on the next trip. Nice Speedster BTW!

Thanks Trevor! You know I spoke to Craig right as he was leaving; he had a pretty young gal with him. I was asking him about his front seats and didn't realize that was him.
He should have been wearing a pink shirt like this guy. He was easy to spot and identify.
I brain faded on forgot to get a clear shot of Bill and Rosemary's C coupe. Unfortunately this was the only direct one of it I took. There has been some body damage to this car caused by Bill recently so I think subconsciously I was saving him some embarrassment.
This 2 owner patina monster is always a crowd favorite.
Jack made it mechanically sound after 40+ years of storage and gave strict orders to the owner not to clean or improve it. He told him not to even vacuum it!
I think that was sound advice. The owner was telling us how he had just turned down an offer of 320K for the car as is!
Parking in front of Jack's shop was tight so several cars had to stay out on the street. Here are shots of the overflow..
