I missed the 2011 edition, but attended the 2012 one with my Brasilian Puma together with my friend Bruno with his black Beck replica

As said before Renaud, as many of Justin forum participants is not a purist and bored to be pushed out of most of the Porsche classic meeting decided in 2011 to organise the Outlaw Classic festival dedicated to Porsche 356 and 550 replicas but also to real out Law Porsches
Doing so Renaud was expecting a large numbers of 356 speedster replicas owners to attend his meeting
Indeed it was not the case
If 550 spyders replicas were in number most of the other cars were real Porsches
Renaud is at the head of a well known Public relation agency which helped him to obtain sponsors
As said above I attended the 2012 edition and was so please that I was really decided to attend the 2013 edition
Unfortunately for me my friend Bruno who attended 2 important 3 days VW meeting end of June and early July (Hessich Oldendorf in Germany and the 5th European Bug in in Belgium, could not make him free for a third consecutive week end
Therefore I had to convince somebody to accompany me
Luckily Franck a Bruno's friend happy owner of an Apal 356 speedster replica accepted to do the road with me
The above pic show us leaving Bruno's shop early Friday July 19th morning
On the contrary of 2012 it was not pooring rain

The shorter road between Royan where I leave, and Avignon the nearest large city to Gordes from where the meeting leave, represent around 750 kilometers (1000 miles go and return)

The center of France is covered by old volcanic moutains and the quicker way with a to day's car is to go around via Bordeaux, Toulouse, and Montpellier motorways, but with our old carrs its easier to use campaign roads through the mountains

After around 400 kms Franck Apal stop shortt of petrol
If country roads are still clear of heavy traffic it is also very difficult to find petrol station

It took me around 1 hour and a half to find a petrol station, and then go to a super market to buy a 5 liters plastic tank of demineralized water, empty it and fill it with petrol, and return to Franck car
Happlily the Apal accepted to restart without any problem
No more alarm until Avignon
The above pic taken from my car show the Rhone river and in the far the Palais des Papes (Pope palace) where the catholic popes lived during the 14th century before to return to the Vatican in Rome
