The meeting was due to start by a breakfeast at 8H30 but we had forgotten that in the Mediteranean part of France everybody is late
When we arrived only one car was there
It is very late in France now and my internet is very slow tonight and it takes hours to post pics
i will complete this topic tomorrow with first a review of the nicer cars and then pics of these cars in action through a beautiful landscape
What a great event, Looks like loads of fun! Thanks for sharing these photos and details Gerard I really enjoyed them. Look forward to any others you may have taken. Thanks again! Justin
2013 was the 911 year, therefore a larger share of the attendants were 911 of all kind from the 65/73 classic to the big bumpers (74/86) 964 and 993 (the last real air cooled 911)
Of course many were replicas
The principle of the meeting is as follows
Meeting start at 8H30 by a large breakfast (coffee, rolls, fruit juice etc...)
Then confirmation of the inscription and collection of the rallye plates and road book
Cars review
1OH30 all cars start in 2 groups :
Those wanting to drive fast
Those more prudent
First stop the Senanque abbaye (monastry alone in the campaign in the middle of kavander fields)
After that short stop direction the Mont Ventoux
The Mont Ventoux culminate to 2010 meters
Three roads climb to the summit with slope up to 16 %
The week end before the 200 + professionnal cyclists of the Tour de France had one arrival at the summit
Many many (thousands of) of amator cyclist try to immitate the professionnal every day
Very few arrive at the summit onn their bicycle
