All Air Cooled Gathering, NJ 9/21 & 22 2013

This is an awesome show. Mostly VW but any air coolers are welcome. 350 cars last year, about 12 or so P-cars & maybe 20-25 other than VW air cooled.

Saturday party, gtg, camping or hotel close by. Sunday is the show & swap. It would be great to get a bigger Porsche presence here. I'm about 15 minutes from Flanders. Very laid back. Great food, great location, lots of fun!

I took a lot of pics today. Please let me know if I shouldn't post so many. What an awesome show! Not sure but I think about 300 air coolers. Last night we had a major rainstorm & the campers braved it. I'm sure some stayed home today but plenty to see. Better Porsche turnout this year.

Again met up with my Bud Kevin to cruise to the show. Chilly morning but warmed up nice.

One of the cool events is valve cover racing. My son Tim took second place. I got knocked out in first round by about half a length.

Next event was the dub push. Teams are formed (usually clubs)to push a bug in a drag race. There was also a match race? using a bus vs. a bug. The bus put up a good showing but couldn't pull it off.

As you can tell I like weird/different stuff. It's not that I don't like a beautiful restoration but I like things with character. So here is my fav of the day. A bus painted with chalkboard paint & a box of chalk for everyone to write/draw on it. It was well covered by the end of the day. Just Brilliant!

Last but not least, my new friends Lenny & Linda with their awesome 74 914. They took first place in the Porsche judging & here they are with their new trophy, a lunch box with Twinkies inside.
