  • Villa Casablanca Concours de Elegance 1990

I finally didgitized some pictures I had taken from the very first 356 dedicated show I had ever attended way back in 1990 when I was just 19 years old. It was the 356 Registry Villa Casablanca concourse de Elegance. I understand that this show no longer exists. Take a close look you might spot a much younger you or 356 that you or someone you know used to own 22+ years ago! How time flies!!! Justin

An amazing estate and a perfect place for a car show! Good turnout of cars by the way.

So crazy to think about all of those young kids in strollers probably all have children the same age as they are here...

This was an attempted panoramic shot of the entire field with the last two shots from above.

If memory serves, I was told this car belonged to a hollywood stuntman who had it built just after making a chunk of change from the first Predator movie with Arnold.

This was a really clean coupe. It had all the "civilized" extras including a luggage rack, head rests and those extrenal vent wings.

This was by no means a show car. It was shiny red paint over a scaley body. Even with my very limited experience I picked up on that. I can just imagine what I'd see today knowing what I do now...

The trend back then was to run 195 or 205 50 series tires. I liked it and bought comp T/A's for my car back then. It did look cool from corner angles but profile shots like this one really point out at least to me that this combo was just too small for this car. The body dominates the wheels which I don't really care for. Not to mention these tires shortened up the legs on an already low final drive gear ratio with these cars. (In other words the motor had to turn higher "R"s just to do the same speed as with taller stock tires.)

A 356 show would not be complete without Greg Youngs GT Speedster

This car just sits perfect don't it...
These last shots were cars not out in the general field but up against the foot of the hill next to the house.

Well, that was it. No matter how many shots I take I always wished I'd taken more looking back. Thanks for stopping by! Justin
