I sure wish I could say yes but I'm no longer a young man in his prime.

Supposedly Don Garlits made the 1st 200mph run at Island Dragway, NJ about 30 minutes south of my house. Connie Kalitta and Chris Karamasinis also say they were the 1st.

Wow, those pictures of the AA/FA are so cool.
"Wild Willy Borsch" driving one handed.....CAST IRON HUEVOS.
I used to run with Leon Fitzgerald in "Pure Heaven" at the "Smokers Meet" in `67.
We were in the pits at Famoso and all of a sudden an 18 wheeler drove in with "Ford" on the side. Out rolled "Snake" with a couple of diggers and extra motors. We had never seen anything like that before.
One of the first (I won`t tell what really was said first)things said was "Cubic Dollars"
The sign of the times, and what they are now.

Sorry, no pictures, but in the early 60s at Indy Raceway Park there was a NHRA nationals I attended. A racer, I believe, from the West coast named Sneaky Pete Robinson was beating everyone with a small block Chevy engine. He was running at unheard of rpms for that era, so nobody figured he would last to the finals. He did, and won. Think he later died in a drag accident.
