  • Japanese Hotrod 356C coupe

A very nice Hot roded 356C coupe by Hirotaka Ishii of Japan. A great looking conversion with well executed 911 upgrades.

Innovative decklid opening so you can actually get to and service its 911 motor. A great looking car! Nice work Hirotaka!

So is this car a real steel 356? Bet it is fast!

hmmm, someone should have told him that Porsche makes a 930 turbo...without the wicked bubble top and short wheelbase.

Critical comments on completed pet projects are never well received, but I just can't resist a few words of caution on these 911 conversions. You will spend much $ and time creating your personal show stopper, but scare the hell out of yourself (and any passenger) the next time you follow a 356 down one of those windey canyon roads we all love. Only an excellent driver will bring it home safely. It's not suspension, its weight distribution, and I have never yet seen one done properly enough to eliminate the scare factor.
If a warmed-over 356 isn't enough for you, go see my good friend Dean Polopolus for a "Polo" motor...

I wonder how Mark Jung's 356/911 drives? It is one of the nicest ones I have seen.
