  • Parts I.D.

I`m trying to identify this rear engine tray. I usually see 2 holes for the muffler support struts, but this has only 1 hole, so I don`t think it`s a 547 part. My suspicion is that it`s a 692 part.......any ideas?? Maybe for a sport muffler equipped car?? Also, the header pipes seem to be modified. They do look like the 2-piece construction pipes that were used on the 547 GS engines, but may have been extended/modified.

Hello Bill, I guess it's for the sport muffler 2.

Do you want to sell that part?

      I believe it is either 587.106.851.00 or 692.106.851.01..........anyone ?

        Hey Bill,
I forwarded this post onto the 4-cam Guru (Jacques Lefriant) and his response was that the pan is definitely 692 with carb preheat and the header pipes may be 904. Hope this helps! My thanks to Jacques once again!

Great looking pieces in your man cave Bill! Who built the "Carrera" logo? They did a nice job!

So, would that drawing be the 587 equivalent? .....#587.106.851.00?........looks like the same piece. Thanks for the drawing.

Maybe early 587's have the same part and they changed it later?

Carrera 2 GS cars typically have 2 muffler support rods, correct?

My old 62 GT Coupe had this Sport I exhaust. It was a 692 3/A, 2 struts. So, the single-hole tray is for Sport II, Sebring. and peashooters I guess.
