                            • The roof was not the most practical feature of the Spyder - very much an after thought. For Porsche to sell it as a street car to customers, it had to come with a roof, otherwise it was a race car and could not be road registered.

                              The leather straps were usually fastened to the chrome loops on the front dash. With a plexi screen, there was always a gap, but supposedly had a 40mph wind rating
