I'm struggling to get excited about this car. Didn't come from the factory with an engine and seems like there is quite a lot to do?

Wasn't assigned a motor from the factory but still designated as a Carrera and outfitted to run a 4-cam motor by Porsche. Incredible history as it was pulled off the line for special purpose prep for a wealthy privateer racer... Aces over my couch potato car.

Bidding is up to $195K (reserve not met), wonder what it will sell for.

I'm sure they're looking for at least 500K given its history. Ibrahim posted this video of it:
Easily a 100K worth of steel repairs before it can even be primered.

The motor that's being offered with it seems just a hodgepodge. No crank, one head that is cracked, SC air cleaners. Looks like a new generator stand from Classic parts. It too has a long and costly journey before its complete. Going to take dedicated enthusiast with deep deep pockets to bring this one back. Especially considering the initial buy in but someone will surely take it on...
