First off, a big round of thanks:
To Roy for help & inspiration, to Justin for always being there, Phil for advise.
Now into week 2, here is an update:
    Finally got pedal assembly off
Brakes/Lines removed, parts cleaned, new lines/master in progress
Lights pulled, serviced (re wire buckets to come)
    Front suspension greased
    Carbs removed/cleaned
Small sheet metal patches made (under tank/around accel pedal)
Started to pull muffler (bought a good used one)

So far I have been very lucky, lot's of time off work, and great patient help.
The urge to do too much is always there....but I keep reminding myself to get it mechanically sound, on the road, and slowly
    fix it up over time.

    Mike

        Mike,

Pleased it worked out for you. If later you need more photo's of the hand throttle operation that you now show disconnected let me know. Maybe you took photos before taking it apart?

Goodness, the condition of your car if after 50 odd years in a wet country would be so different. Pleased for you it came from S.Africa.

        Roy
