The post should come together at the top like in my circle.....but I have seen other versions also, but they might have been repaired afterwards due to rust!

The blue and red over the position of the black lock holder is been to about 11 mm depth.
    Thx
    JOP

Justin got this off his T2 untouched post around 10 mm

I have done some measurements to be around 11 mm.

This Speedster I found at Enderle Center meeting in Oktober it had its OEM doorposts.
It was owned by a guy namned Bruce whom had it for about 6 years. He bought it from a owner whom had it since early 1970.
I cant find any photos from door posts
But it looks like the top pictures of this tread.

Justin has a bunch of pictures when he built the Coupster. Maybe those would help.

Hey John, do you have any shots of your Roadster striker posts? Yours would be low striker and more of what Per is looking for.

Per, I took these shots of the striker on that '59 D this afternoon.

I don't know if these will help you as I haven't confirmed if these are the originals or not.

The tops have also been releaded and I was beginning the process of a final shape contour. Bruce Baker has said that all the cars vary slightly in shape here. It just depends on what the factory lead carver was doing. HTH

Thank you for photos and info.
All untouched are with the pointy top (greay colored photo) as it should be but alot have gotten a repair with normal coupe door striker since that what you got when looking for new parts like +15 years back.
Function will be ok but looks are not 100% for you to win a trophy
