John- great milestone achieved. Awesome attention to detail and work. Only as good as prep. Difference between a good paint job and one like this just takes it to a much higher level that just looks incredible. This looks like a wet seal in water.

thanks you are right, starting to put it back together now, should be done before the first of the year . Glass back in, hood and door seals in, deck lid and hood back on. Straying to look like a 356 again.

Reassembling continues, doors on, jewelry begins, cleaning grounds, electrical connections, new rubber seals etc. It’s the little things now and attention to detail. After paint gaps are good, the body is razor straight.

she will back on the road soon thanks for looking.
Also Frank Swanson just sold his 64C today on BAT today, after 10 years of evenings and weekends, he just ran out of gas, on the project. Someone got a very well documented and well done project.

Looking good John. I see you've done your first polish pass. I assume you'll chase out the haze once the paint fully hardens this spring? Oh, that your buddy's bare metal coupe on BaT. Keep up the great progress.

Today was electrical day, started installing the “Vintage Trader” LED conversation kit. Jules spent a little over a year researching the best LED replacement bulbs available. He makes a complete kit with all the replacements including head lights and killer instrument bulbs.

I did a similar kit a few years ago, I used Chinese LEDs from EBay. I just searched the SAE base style and 6v LED. They are adequate , but only 40-50% brightness and quality of the Vintagetrader.com kits. Note the brightness of the small front parking bulbs, spectacular!

We’re getting close, did the factory water hose leakage test on the seals this afternoon, all is well and dry….
Then drove it about 10 miles got the oil up to temp, rides well, handles as expected, stops straight. Looking good, now back to upholstery shop for a couple weeks

Put the laser on the new led headlights, got them adjusted, you can see the red center line hight on the wall. Hood adornment is the last thing to go on, after cutting the paint. . Drove it to the local car club today and then off to the upholstery shop to install the interior. Ran fine, big hit with the locals, with fresh paint. Looks like a new car now. So it will be with the interior guy for a week or so, then back for a service and some more driving miles of shakedown. But she’s getting close to the end.
