  • Porsche 356A - T2: Door handle (outside) rubber installation

I got my door handle back frome the re-chrome shop.

I was just about to re assemble them ...be here is my problem.
There is 1 rubber seal in the handle....but I just don't know how this rubber is orientated?
(I'm talking about the top rubber ring in the attached picture)

It's very hard to get it into place, and once installed in the handle ...it's impossible to insert the locking system....

Anyone here has some tips/ pictures/ diagrams?

    Thanks
    Bart

It's normal for the plungers to fit tight or not at all after they come back from chrome. Actually just about any mechanism or hinge requires some clearance filing after replating. Have you mocked up the plungers without the seal to get an understanding as to how tight things are now? If the plungers operate freely in there and the seal clearance is your only issue then you could try sanding the ID of seal to create the needed clearance. Its going to come down to time and patience here.
