      Thanks Trevor...

Nice catch Gerard, those two sure didn't have the signals; Because they were built as purpose race cars??

Justin - Maybe we could split the Gmund pics/info into a separate thread from the Pre A thread?

Done! Great suggestion Trevor, Thanks! Justin

Gmund and Zell am See where everything started
The Porsche family had a "villa" or holydays house near the Zell am See lake

The relation between Ferdinand Porsche (1875/1951) are a bit unclear
We know for sure that Hitler had a strong admiration for Ferdinand Porsche work and that Ferdinand was decorat'ed by Hitler with the highest Reich decoration

At the end of the second WW Ferdinad Porsche was arrested by the French army and transferred to France
The french governement ask him to collaborate to the re opening of the Renault plant who had been nationalized by the socialist French governement in 1936
He refused and was transferred in a prison near Dijon where he stayed until 1949
At the same time his son Ferry (1909/1999) was trying to have the Porsche office restarted
He had the idea to built a small plant in the Austrian alps not far from their Famly House of Zell am See

At the beginning Ferry idea was not to built cars but to have a plant to work on prototypes for other car manufacturers

Ferry obtained a contract from the Italian company Cisitalia to study a racing car
Although this car was built it-s never raced but with the money he got Ferry had enough to pay the 1Million FF caution asked by the French governement to release Ferdinand Porsche who in fact spent 2 years in jail but was never judged.

Tomorrow the return of Ferdinand Porsche to Zell am See and the decision to built Porsche cars...
