      Great old photos Bill and thank you for sharing them! I'm always fascinated with old (&new) race car prep and tech. I love all the thought and effort detail that went into drilling out all those individual components to make the car just that much lighter. A true balancing act of lighting a given item without destroying its structural integrity. Great stuff, thanks again!

        Sorry I can't find the source of the quote now but in one of the registry mags someone had one of the early 356 imported via Max. He got to chat to a German mechanic who had worked on the car. The owner asked the mechanic how they decided where to drill the holes. The answer was something like, "we kept drilling until we beat Ferrari"!
