  • Heather bubble

What is the Heater bubble actually for? Mine is very rusty, and considering just sitting a flat plate in like on the right side. Would it be ok, or is it very important in relation to the originality ?

The "Heather" bubble is where you put flowers. The HEATER bubble is to accommodate the end of the large Webasto(?) heater, standard for 4 cam engines, optional for pushrod cars. There is a flanged hole in the end to accommodate a mount for the heater, otherwise a odd rubber plug fills the hole. Years ago, the side panels with the bubble were NLA, but reproduction panels are currently available. It's always better to have factory configuration when the time comes to sell.

The heater hole fits the Eberspacher gas heater.

John, I think that the top photo shows Heather's bubbles, a plural.
