Unless you are bored by my writing I have still many many stories to tell
Next to come will be :
The Lambert Dock Volvo Porsche special a certainly unknown story for most of you that I recently discover reading an article dedicated to a famous Frenchman collecting Volvo cars in a weekly magazine dedicated to historical cars named "La Vie de l'Auto" whose dream was to find back this car desapeared since 1990

                have inspired me the following
Apparently there is not one of the 20 off Abarth Carrera who have the same exhaust
From the first prototype with a straight forward Carrera exhaust

Re your comments I don't think the Abarth Carrera with the hideous exhaust pic was taken in England
If the mini is confirm the other car is rather a DKW
The lorry is a Mercedes and the surrounds look like Germany or Austria furthermore all cars look to be left drive
I have check the entrants in the Nurburgring 1000 kilomeytes 1961-1962 and 1963 and found no Abarth with race number 65
So the mystery still complete if somebody as an idea he is welcome

Lambert Dock was running a garage at Engis a small Belgium town along the Meuse river in between Liege and Huy in the Belgium Ardennes

Lambert Dock became famous in the Belgium sport cars movement for being expert in widening the series steel wheel to improve road handling
Of course when you run a garage in a region where 2 Major sport cars race are held : Liege Rome Liege and the Huy 12 hours
your only idea is to become a pilot yourself
Lambert Dock dream was to buy a 550 spyder but he did not had the money for
Only solution build his race car himself
In 1958 he weld a tubular chassis copied on the 550 A one
As this chassis was fitted with Porsche front and back drive trains and brakes, put the engine at the back was obvious for everybody except Lambert
                            The engine (a Volvo PV 444 1.6 L) wa

Is idea was to put the engine in the front and

                            • Sorry wrong post again I continue
Lambert Dock decided to fit a Volvo PV 444 1.6 L engine + the origianl gear box in the front
The Volvo gear box was linked by a transmission axle to the Porsche gear box located at the back giving not less than 16 possible combinations
This chassis was covered by a profiled aluminium body
