Porschinelle recently sent in photos of five Denzels. I commented on four of the five. The one I didn't write about is a unique one. It is the dark-colored one which carries the license plate XMB 702. It is the only right-hand-drive Denzel. The serial number is DK 145, and it is a 1300 Serien Super. It was ordered new and imported into England by E.B. Wadsworth in July 1956. He enjoyed competing in rallies.
The photo that was posted shows the car competing in some kind of trials, with the ground appearing to be muddy. His two sons had the car restored, and one or both of them still owned it as of several years ago. There is a detailed article on the car in the "Classic and Sports Car" magazine of July 1997.

356/2 040 was bui_lt in Gmund Austria in the course of 1950
It is probably the last aluminium 356 built in the original Gmund saw mill
As said above Otto got this car without the engine and the gear box
He fit himself on this car a standard Porsche engine and gear box
It is not clear from where came this engine
It could be a spare motor for Otto 356/2 052 race car ot a standard 1953 factory motor
Otto never used this 356 for racing although many pic show this car wearing the same plate number T2222 than Otto race car
