  • SEAT RAILS

What do most people do with these? they look to be plated but maybe industrial platting, it doesn't look like chrome that you would see on say a bumper. also the ones on the seat bottom are riveted on what's the best way to put them back on. no pictures the rails are in the electrolysis tank right now.
    thanks Jay D.

I used 000 steel wool & then simichrome polish on a rag. They came out nicely. Not chrome looking but still had a nice dull shine.

Upper and lower rails were nickel plated with the adjustment handle chrome plated.

Best bet: Brad Ripley at NLA (800-438-8119) for new. Excellent repros.

If the plater can do your old ones without making them wavy and TOO nice for the original 'look' while NOT destroying ('smearing') the raised area around the screw holes anyway....for less than $175.....fine. Otherwise, buy the repros.

One can tell a plater "nickel only!" and they come back bright, shiny, wavy 'show chrome'....anyone wanna buy a set or more like that? Cheap.

Just a suggestion from personal experience and seeing the results others have had.....
