  • Rubber floor mat

Could someone on the list tell me if the rubber mat that covers
tunnel from the carpet to the foot boards gets glued down to the
the aluminum cover? The cover has old dried glue on both sides now,
but that could be someone's afterthought.
    Thank you, Gordon

    Gordon,
The rubber does get glued down to the cover. The inside of that alloy cover had a pale, thin fiber/wool like lining glued to it also and probably acted as an anti-rattle buffer. Hope this helps! Justin

      Gordon,

I agree with Justin, when I removed the cover on my tunnel the rubber was glued to the alloy formed cover.

        Well guys,
We didn't glue the tunnel rubber in the Roadster when it went togther and it lays very nicely after the rubber mats are in.
Initially it was a little stiff but flexs in time and lays nicely.
Not sure if the orginal was glued in or not after 45 yeas of service!

        A pic during installation.

The mat was glued down on my T1 coupe. Had a devil of a time removing the remnants so I could clean and polish the alloy cover to run it naked. I goes well with my fabricated CD deck housing and the Moto-Lita wheel.

            Thanks Dick!

Interesting SJ, I had you pegged as more of a purist but you seem to have a Hot rod streak in you...

Gordon here is that inner insulation I was describing earlier:
