Re-cased motor??

Guys,

Someone please tell the fellow who posted recently on the R Forum about 601033. That motor went into a Cabrio.

If he tells me the five digit number on the other case half, I can tell him if it came from 601033.

Thanks Steve.....that's very interesting news. The engine has been very carefully packed away (on the back of a 1960 Ford F100) and is on it's way to the UK. It'll be about 6 weeks before I get to see it again and it'll be the first thing I do. I have 1956 T1 Coupe 1600 VIN 57413 and the original engine ( P62831) is long gone. I just purchased the car and it has a rather nippy VW engine currently in it. The engine came with the car.
