  • Porsche By Design-Seducing Speed!

    Guys,
A couple of weeks ago I drove to Raleigh, NC to the North Carolina Museum of Art.
A collection of 22 Porsches ranging from the Type 64 to 917s etc are there until January 20, 2014.
It is a collection to salivate over if, like me you have never been to Stuttgart.
I'll post a few pics here of cars that I think this audience would enjoy, however they are all beautiful IMHO!
Here is the 1964 356SC Sunroof.

    Dick,

Really great photos. I do have a couple of questions:

1). Steve McQueens speedster I believe is owned by his son. Has he loaned it to the museum?

    2) You did ask me why there is that small slot just behind the rear quarter light on that coupe. I have no idea unless it there to lose heat from the engine bay?

      Hey Roy,
Sharp guy that you are-Steve McQueen apparently sold the Speedster then after his death his son, Chad, bought it back.
It is on loan from Chad for the show, like most of the cars there.

The small slit is for water drainage on sunroof equipted coupes. I was told that one can tell an after market sunroof if the slit is not there.

Here are some more cars from the show.
I think I have posted some of these before but I have a very bad memory!!!

            Well Justin,
            I took a bunch!
I tried to take front, rear and inside if the presentation permitted.
Here are a few more of the same cars but different angles.
