Here is a 62B coupe I lost in 1970.
Snowing on new years, I was hit head on by a 68 Electra 225. Knocked me back down the road from from which I came, then hit me in the drivers door, spun it around and hit it again in the rear and pressed me into a guard rail. We exited through the rear window. Unharmed, got away without a scratch.
The coupe was totaled but it ran and would still drive, in spite of a exhaust leak. The passengers door popped open on the first hit and was the only straight body part on the whole car.
The transmission tail of the Electra came through the floor in their back seat. It was about three feet shorter after the shunt, the front bumper was around the front tires
Still have the engine and trans and most of the parts. Its was a fine ride.Pushed around since 1966.

John, thanks for sharing this great old photo and hair raising experience. You were quite lucky to come out of it unharmed. An Electra 225 is a big car! I'm pretty sure the rear quarter panel alone on one of those is about the length of a 356.
Thanks again!

Still looking for the front view photos. The nose was curled up and across the torsion bar tubes. The battery and spare were on top of the gas tank, lights were still on. the hood looked like an an accordion, steering & brakes still worked. When the wrecker dropped it off, I fired it up, drove it into the barn. Mechanically it's was still pretty sound, just no body. I bought it back from geico for 200.00 and 20.00 for the tow.Pushed around since 1966.
